1. Theo Chocolate has released fair trade certified peanut butter cups in partnership with small batch roaster CB’s Nuts, based in Kingston. The heart-shaped cups are available in milk and dark chocolate and are free of soy and palm oil. The products are for sale at the Theo retail store in Fremont and at regional Whole Foods markets.
2. Pike Place Market’s Copacabana Cafe is celebrating its 50th anniversary from June 16 to 21. The Bolivian restaurant will serve complimentary samples of its most beloved dishes on June 19 from noon to 2 p.m. and will offer food and drink specials and complimentary appetizers all next week.
3. Chuck’s Hop Shop’s Central District location now has a patio, just in time for summer. The beer shop transformed a neglected space fronting Union Street into a lovely deck complete with patio umbrellas.
4. Things are looking rather grim for Argentina farmers; severe flooding in Ituzaingo has forced many to save their livestock using boats.
