1. The Triple Door launched a four-week “Mix Madness” bartender competition series on Monday. The venue’s eight bartenders will each create a cocktail based on the week’s assigned liquor. Patrons of the venue’s Musiquarium Lounge can purchase the drinks and vote on their favorite. The top four will be available on the Triple Door’s menu throughout the summer. Voters will also be entered to win a weekly prize package that includes concert tickets and gift cards.

2. Vashon Island–based cheese maker and author Kurt Timmermeister will open a small shop in Capitol Hill’s new Chophouse Row project at 11th and Pike, according to Seattle Met

. Kurt Farm Shop will sell Timmermeister’s farmstead cheese, his books, and ice cream using milk from his cows and flavors from his farm and others on Vashon. Timmermeister joins Volunteer Park Cafe’s Ericka Burke, who recently announced she’s opening two spots in Chophouse Row.

3. Adding to our list of Sunday Suppers, The VUDE has started a Sunday dinner series called “Up and Comer Sunday Suppers.” They’re recruiting rising stars to cook multicourse meals; tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets.
