1. The Washington Beer Commission’s two-day Winter Beer Festival comes to Magnuson Park today and tomorrow. Admission includes a half dozen 5 oz. pours and a tasting glass for sampling brews from more than 50 purveyors. Machine House, Two Beers and Hi-Fi will be in attendance; Check out the roster for a full list of participants.

2. Over in Phinneywood, the 2nd Annual Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl happens on Saturday. More than 20 watering holes are offering drink specials for ugly sweater-wearers, including Park Pub, Proust! and the Angry Beaver. Sponsored by Tim’s Tavern, the crawl lasts from 6:00 pm until midnight. Proceeds go to the Greenwood Food Bank. More details are over here.

3. Cupcake Royale celebrates a decade of business by passing out free Dance Party Babycakes this Monday, December 9. The sweet treats are being served at all seven locations during Royale normal business hours. Also, on Monday only all merchandise, including t-shirts, mugs and a new make-your-own cupcaking kit are 20% off.

4. From now through New Year’s Eve, Fonte Coffee Roaster is donating net proceeds from its holiday blend to help underwrite the 2014 meal program at Pike Market Child Care and Preschool. The initiative feeds more than 35,000 snacks and meals to kids each year. Fonte’s holiday blend is available for $18 a pound online or at its downtown cafe on First Ave.
