1. The annual trike race down Queen Anne hill – officially called the Second Annual Unofficial Unsanctioned Radical Self Liability Trike Race — is set for Sunday, May 18. The race starts at Targy’s Tavern and ends at The Streamline and protective gear is encouraged. More details are available on Facebook.
2. Sounders FC players will be partnering with Metropolitan Grill at the annual Celebrity Waiters Dinner benefitting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Washington Chapter on May 13th. Players will don official Met server jackets to wait on guests in the main dining room. So far, the lineup includes Zach Scott, Marcus Hahnemann, Dylan Remick, and Cam Weaver.
3. Porkchop & Co. officially opened its doors yesterday in Ballard. Their menu looks damn tasty, with a grits and roasted kale breakfast bowl, daily biscuit sandwiches, and plenty of sandwiches for meat lovers and vegetarians, too. Baked goods from pop-up Parchment are also on the list.
4. Yakima’s Treveri Cellars served its phenomenal sparkling wine at the US Department of State dinner Wednesday night. This marks the third time Treveri has held that honor, which is especially impressive considering the winery has only been in business three years and change.
