1. Lost Lake Cafe and Lounge is about to launch a year-long campaign to support area charities. The all-night diner will donate ten percent of all menu sales on the second Tuesday of each month to a rotating list of Capitol Hill non-profits. “We are so thankful to be part of such a culturally diverse neighborhood, and respect and appreciate all of our patrons,” says Joey Burgess, General Manager of Lost Lake. “It feels good to be able to give something back to the community.” A portion of tomorrow’s purchases will be donated to the Lifelong AIDS Alliance.

2. Want to teach others how to make city soil healthier? Seattle residents are invited to apply for Seattle Tilth’s Master Composter/Soil Builder course. Upon finishing the volunteer training program you’ll be ready to show folks how to build worm bins, demonstrate how to best recycle food and yard waste and more. Seattle Tilth’s next edible plant sale is slated for Saturday, March 15 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
