1. Head over to Bremerton Waterfront on August 9 for the sixth annual Kitsap Wine Festival. More than 30 wineries and breweries will be pouring sips from 2 to 5:30 p.m. More information and tickets are available online.
2. The Shoofly Pie Company in West Seattle will close, according to the West Seattle Blog. The restaurant has been around for nearly 10 years but will shutter August 17.
3. Now through July 24, Theo Chocolate is selling ice cream sandwiches made with chocolate brownie cookies and Ballard Bee Company Honey Parfait Ice Cream at the Fremont factory store.
4. Starting this fall you may notice a bizarre new vegetable in your supermarket’s produce area. It’s called BrusselKale, and as you’ve probably deduced, it’s a kale-Brussel sprout hybrid. It’s supposedly going to be sweet and nutty and delicious, and quite possibly purposeless.
