1. Cicchetti will open its doors for happy hour and dinner on Monday nights starting February 3rd. In addition to a just-launched winter menu, Mediterranean street food eats will be offered on Mondays every week, including falafel, crispy-spiced chickpeas and Greek salad.
2. The 5th annual Belgianfest happens this Saturday at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Pier 66. More than 40 Washington breweries including Odin and Boundary Bay will pour over 100 Belgians. Tickets are available online.
3. Coastal Kitchen is legal. Launched in 1993, the Capitol Hill restaurant celebrates its 21st birthday tomorrow night by serving up $0.93 oysters from 11:00 am through midnight. Also, Coastal Kitchen will offer oysters by the dozen for $15 alongside pints of Hilliard’s ‘12th Can’ Pale Ale during a viewing party on Superbowl Sunday.
4. In other football-inspired food news, Volunteer Park Cafe puts a spin on traditional game day nosh for Super Bowl Sunday. The Capitol Hill spot is offering takeaway Moroccan spiced chicken wings with lemon couscous, three layer dip with hummus, roasted red pepper spread and spinach-feta spread and 12th Man cupcakes.
