1. Capitol Hill’s Spanish cafe and bar, Chico Madrid, served its last bocadillo on Sunday. The cafe announced its closing on Facebook last week after just one year in business.
2. In other Capitol Hill news, the much-anticipated Japanese restaurant Shibumi Izakaya is now open on 13th and Pine. And Corretto, taking over the Panevino spot on Broadway, is also open as of this past weekend. Seattle Met has a preview of both.
3. Dahlia Lounge has announced the visiting chefs participating in its I-5 Chef Series: Portland’s Gabrielle Quinonez Denton and Greg Denton and Vancouver’s Joel Watanabe. Watanabe is showcasing modern Chinese cuisine on April 30 and the Dentons are bringing their wood-fired Argentinean grilling on May 8. 4. A California city council voted unanimously to declare the smell of Sriracha a public nuisance. The fumes from the hot sauce plant in the city of Irwindale are so spicy they irritate the eyes and throats of residents, reports the LA Times. But here’s why you shouldn’t care.
