1. Book Bindery Chef Shaun McCrain has announced he’s departing the Nickerson Street restaurant to open up a place of his own. McCrain will be at Book Bindery until June 28, and co-owner Sumi Almquist says she’s “in talks with a very worthy successor.”

2. Ballard will soon be home to an 8 oz. Burger & Co. – any day now. The restaurant hasn’t announced an open date just yet, but expectations are for early May. From the looks of things on Facebook, they’ve got the Market Street space built out.

3. The Mobile Food Truck Rodeo is returning May 3 and 4, albeit with some changes, reports Seattle Met. The first day will be dedicated to tacos and dubbed Taco Libre Truck Showdown; trucks will line up at Sixth and King in the International District. On May 4 the trucks will return to the Fremont Market.

4. Conde Nast Traveler has a fascinating list of the world’s smelliest food. If you’ve ever hung around in the International District, the addition of durian to the list should come as no surprise.
