1. Beth’s Cafe, on Aurora Ave N, is celebrating its 60th birthday next week. On Monday, June 2, the 24-hour diner will donate a portion of its proceeds to local nonprofit Treehouse and serve special menu items at 1950s price points. The week culminates on June 7 with a birthday party – “a 50s-themed shindig at the cafe where folks will reminisce and everyone will party like it’s 1954.”
2. The Capitol Hill creperie 611 Supreme has announced its closing. Owner Margaret Edwins wrote to her Facebook fans last week with the following message: “I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the incredible patrons and most importantly to all the staff that have walked through these doors.” Friday was the restaurant’s last day in business.
3. Stoup Brewing is crafting a special beer for Seattle Works Day, held on June 7. The massive volunteer blitz will end with a party for those involved – with the Stoup brew on tap. There will also be a few kegs available at Brave Horse Tavern.
