1. An expanded Monsoon opened yesterday with doubled capacity and a new bar. The Capitol Hill restaurant from Eric and Sophie Banh added 800 square feet and 40 seats, nine of which sit at the bar. Monsoon has also added a chilled seafood section to the menu.
2. Chef Lisa Nakamura has announced her Gnocchi Bar pop-up will be holding a Saturday Supper on August 9 at 6 p.m. at American Pie Bakery and Cafe in Georgetown. The $130 price tag gets you five courses and hors d’oeuvres and wine pairings. Dishes include red-wine braised short ribs with mushroom-stuffed risotto and roasted king salmon filet with fennel compote. Reservations must be made in advance by emailing info@gnocchibarseattle.com
3. Ethan Stowell was set to open his ultra pricey Noyer behind Red Cow in Madrona, but he’s now announced he’s looking for an alternative location, reports Eater Seattle. “It’s not good enough,” Stowell says of the space.
4. Campbell Soup has announced it is adding a line of organic soup to boost sales. Competing brands and an increase in demand for transparency at the grocery store has hurt sales at the 145-year-old company.
