1. After losing its lease, the more than three decade old La Boulangerie will close its doors next month in Wallingford. Wallyhood reports that neighboring bar Seamonster Lounge plans to expand into the space after the bakery shutters on January 31.
2. A raffle for one very cool gingerbread treehouse co-created by Coyle’s Bakeshop proprietor Rachel Coyle ends at noon today at Fremont’s Book Larder. $3 entries can be bought in person or online through noon, when the golden ticket is drawn. Proceeds from the raffle go to Ballard Food Bank.
3. Juicebox will be closed from Christmas Eve through December 29 while staff members spend time with their families. Take heart, the Capitol Hill juicery and healthy eatery will reopen in time to serve folks with “juice detox” on the top of their New Year’s resolution list.
4. Also on the Hill, Broadway’s Cintli Latin Folklore hosts a Dia de los Reyes Magos party on Sunday, January 5th. Aztec drinking chocolate and Rosca de Reyes will be served in celebration of Epiphany, which falls on January 6. The 2:00 pm event is free and open to the public.
