1. Giving Subway, Jimmy John’s and Quiznos a run for their money, local “sustainable sandwich” chainlet Homegrown just opened a new shop downtown at 2nd Ave. and Marion St. Hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.

2. Aqua by El Gaucho hosts this summer’s Hootenanny on Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. The waterfront fiesta at Pier 70 includes oysters from Taylor Shellfish, lots of wine and, “a DJ spinning hip vibes.” More info is over here.
