1. As part of Hugo House’s second annual Lit Crawl, Seattle Weekly Food and Drink Editor Nicole Sprinkle hosts “Farm to Fable” this Thursday at Capitol Cider’s downstairs Ballast Bar. Food writers Langdon Cook (The Mushroom Hunters), Kathleen Flinn (Kitchen Counter Cooking School), Joe Ray (New York Times) and Kurt Timmermeister (Growing a Farmer) “will dish up delicious nonfiction.” The free event gets going at 8:00 pm.
2. Ballard Ave.’s Stoneburner started a new happy hour menu. Offerings are all priced at $8 and include grilled radicchio and roasted delicata with cornbread crumbs and pizza topped with potato, chanterelles and Walla Walla onions. Happy hour lasts from 3:00 to 5:00 pm daily and 11:00 pm till midnight on Friday and Saturday.
3. Frank’s Oyster House & Champagne Parlor is throwing a Bubbles & Bivalves event in honor of its upcoming fifth birthday. The November 10th all you can eat oyster party includes two drink tickets for $45 a person. Reserve a spot online or by calling the restaurant at 206-214-6518.
4. Kirkland’s Heathman Hotel is partnering with Trellis Executive Chef Brian Scheehser and Pastry Chef Sandra Watson to launch afternoon tea service starting this Thursday, October 24 through February of next year. The English-inspired service includes sweets and savories like scones and tea sandwiches served with one of nine teas. Reservations are required; call Trellis at 425-284-5900 to book a table.
