1. Bauhaus is finalizing a two-year lease in a to be announced location near its current Melrose and Pine store, according to CHS. The iconic cafe is moving out for building redevelopment (you guessed it, more condos!) and preservation, then has first dibs on a lease that allows it to return to its revamped space in 2015. Bauhaus will serve its last latte at pre-redeveloped 301 E Pine on October 5: exactly two decades after the doors first opened. A second Bauhaus location is slated to open in Ballard next month.
2. RockCreek (yep, no space) is open for business behind Uneeda Burger in Fremont. The restaurant was launched by former Toulouse Petit executive chef Eric Donnelly.
3. Madrona wine bar Bottlehouse is releasing its own growler, “The Thirsty One Liter” this Sunday. Go, fill a jug with one of six wines on tap, and hear live music from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
4. Just in time for weekend picnicking, Serious Eats chooses a half dozen charcuteries from local purveyors, including Sea Breeze Farm and Dot’s.
