1. This guy just won’t slow down: Eater reports that Josh Henderson (file under Skillet, Westward/Little Gull, Hollywood Tavern) is opening Parchment in SoDo via his Huxley Wallace Collective restaurant group. The beer and bread joint’s kitchen will be led by Revel/Joule pastry chef Laura Pyles and serve baked goods, sandwiches and brews. Look for doors to open in the first part of 2014 at 2915 First Ave. S. That’s the space that formerly housed Year of the Monkey.
2. The Capitol Club is closing its doors this Saturday. CHS reports that the 17-year-old Pine St. bar has been sold to a new owner. Future plans for the space have yet to be announced.
3. Is it new news, old news, or no news? Top Pot opened its 15th doughnut shop last week on Madison St. near Minor Ave. in First Hill.
4. Speaking of First Hill, Stockbox launched a couple of weeks back at 901 James St. With a focus on bringing fresh food to underserved areas, the neighborhood grocery is throwing a grand opening celebration from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm tomorrow and Saturday. Expect free samples from local vendors like Macrina, Snoqualmie Ice Cream and Stumptown Coffee.
