Word’s in from New York that John Sundstrom, of Lark and Licorous fame, has won a James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Pacific Northwest. The awards were presented last night in New York at a star-studded banquet (well, “stars” to those of us who devour Food & Wine magazine). At the previous night’s journalism awards banquet, Rebekah Denn, staff critic for the P-I, won in the Restaurant Criticism category.Congratuations to both! You can read the full list of nominees and winners on the foundation’s website. (You can pick through it for familiar names or read an earlier Voracious post to see which other Seattleites were nominated this year.)
