Triple Door’s Musicquarium

Eating lunch in a nightclub—especially in a black-leather-loungey kind of place like Triple Door’s Musicquarium—seems wrong, somehow. Like eating seared scallops for breakfast. But then again, who needs yet another wake-up platter of bacon and eggs? The Triple Door’s new lunch service (11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Mon.–Fri.) has plenty to recommend it: Convenient midtown location, friendly wait staff, and best of all, a kitchen run by Wild Ginger’s head chef, Nathan Uy. As you might expect, the menu favors noodles, soups, Vietnamese sandwiches, and stir-fries. The sandwiches ($5.95–$8.25) are fine, though not as exotic as some banh mi (is that Thousand Island dressing in there?); order anything prepared in the wok, like the heavenly Seven Flavor Beef ($9.95), and you won’t be disappointed. Sides—a cabbage salad with bursts of basil, a pile of sweet/salty taro chips—are another pleasant surprise. 216 Union St., 206-838-4333, thetripledoor.net. DOWNTOWN
