That said, many, many organizations look for volunteers throughout the holidays and year-round.United Way’s Web site includes a long list of opportunities with local nonprofits, both holiday-specific and ongoing, here. Several specific charities that are currently seeking volunteers include Seattle Works, Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, and Northwest Harvest.If you’re interested in working close to home, the city of Seattle posts a pdf list of neighborhood food banks all over the city. You’ll need to inquire to volunteer. And–heads up–most organizations will require an application.
