Join author John Holl as he demos from his new The American Craft Beer Cookbook at the Book Larder on Monday at 6:30 p.m. and at Pike Pub & Brewery on Tuesday from 4–6 p.m. The book features more than 150 recipes collected from breweries and brewpubs nationally, with Seattle’s Elysian black-bean sliders and Woodinville’s Redhook Brewery’s chicken-fried steak tips with ESP gravy among them).

Storyville Coffee is bringing its Bainbridge Island roasts to Pike Place Market and offering free private tastings of its coffee and baked goods throughout September. Carmelita just published a drink-recipe collection via Amazon’s CreateSpace to help support its staff severance fund. News blog PhinneyWood reports that the vegetarian restaurant will donate proceeds from Carmelita Cocktails to team members. Buy a copy online, or in-store starting next week until the eatery shutters on September 29.
