The Twitter-verse was all abuzz within seconds of the post going live at Eater National:”That drumbeat you hear? Our armies, bringing more Eater regional expansion to lands far and near. In fact, top-level sources at Eater HQ can now reveal our next launch city, slated to drop sometime in early 2011: Seattle. Which means now is the time for the editor who will make the magic happen to step forward onto the dancefloor.”Yes, boys and girls, it looks like the rumors are true. First it was Portland, and now, sometime soon, Seattle is going to be getting its own local version of the big national food blog. So what does this mean?Well, for one, I’m pretty sure every “citizen journalist” within a hundred miles with a blogspot page detailing their love of cupcakes, tacos, or vegan home-cookery is now burning up the Internets trying to score the freelance editor’s gig that has just come open. And for two, in this already crowded digital marketplace there is soon going to be another big lens focused squarely on the cooks, chefs, fish chuckers, pig butchers, mushroom foragers, and cocktail slingers of this fair city. For details about both the job and the new expansion, check out the announcement on Eater. And let the news-pocalypse begin . . .
