The Place: La Luna, 2 Boston St., 282-2511, QUEEN ANNE The Hours: Daily, 3 p.m.-5 p.m., 9 p.m.-closeThe Deal: The Mexican lounge takes pride in offering a full page of grub on its bar menu, promoting $2 off during happy hour. Its fare is described as “fine Mexican fusion” that throws in some seafood dishes like seared scallops and crab cakes and tops them with salsa. There’s even a fancied-up version of a grilled cheese sandwich, or Queso al Carbon if you wish, that consists of asadero cheese combined with apple compote sauce and juicy roasted beets for a discounted price of $5.50. Specialty cocktails like the Tijuana Tap Water (a golden-hued tequila concoction that can make a stomach turn when gulped) or the Regional Reposado Margarita are $1 off as well. The Digs: The former Flow Lounge space remains unchanged except for the fire coming out of rocks that act as table centerpieces in the lounge and outside. Servers appear undaunted by the propane-fueled flames that are just inches away from their arms as they deliver food and beverage throughout their shift. The bar’s high ceilings and open floor plan allow for conversation to travel easily, so escaping outside to the patio area amid a busy Queen Anne intersection might be the most peaceful option. The Verdict: Without any traditional Mexican decor, it’s hard to tell what La Luna is all about without glancing at its menu. If anything, the lounge offers a more professional atmosphere for Queen Anne-ites who are tired of having to dodge the partiers at Pesos in order to get a taco.
