The Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance is celebrating National Farmers Market Week August

The Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance is celebrating National Farmers Market Week August 3 through 9 with sales at each of its neighborhood markets. The sales kick off at the West Seattle and Broadway markets this Sunday, with discounts on items like peaches, beets, microgreens and tamales.

Parchment’s Laura Pyles has announced there are still spots left in her August 13 Pie Class (from 6:30 to 9 p.m.) and her next paella class on August 28 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. For more information or to register, email Laura at Parchmentseattle@gmail.com.

PETA is offering to pay an overdue water bill for families who pledge to go vegan for 30 days. So far, the animal rights organization has received only five applications.
