Ballard is busy this week, too. The Blue Glass debuts “global comfort food” at 704 Northwest 65th Street starting at 5 p.m. today. Also, 5 Corner Market is taking over the space once occupied by beloved Italian eatery Lombardi’s at 2200 Northwest Market Street. Chef Sam Crannell, formerly of Oddfellows and Quinn’s, anticipates his 125-seat gastropub to open on December 13.
Over on Capitol Hill, bar and dance club Kurrent on 600 East Pine has closed. A new tenant is taking over the space and plans to transform it into a restaurant. And a new karaoke bar called Rock Box is scheduled to open at 1603 Nagle Place on Tuesday, December 7. Expect Japanese-style karaoke with a full bar and private rooms for you to drink, eat, and, of course, sing.
Lastly, in Queen Anne, California-based frozen yogurt chain Menchie’s – adored by pop princesses like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Britney Spears – is scheduled to open its first Seattle store at 2101 Queen Anne Avenue North “within the next week.”
