Photo by Leslie KellyWho Dat gonna be serving gumbo on Game Day? Where Ya At Matt, dat’s who.Even if you don’t give a rip about football, it’s still kind of fun to get all caught up in playoff fever, right? Especially if it involves drinking in bars while watching the game. There’s no better way for visiting Saints fans (and gumbo-loving Hawks 12th men/women) to pre-funk before kickoff than by hitting up Where Ya At Matt’s food truck.Matt Lewis, who grew up in the Crescent City and will no doubt be sporting Saints black and gold, will have his meals-on-wheels operation set up beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday two blocks south of Qwest Field, on First Avenue. Just look for the long lines. Actually, Matt is trying to figure out how to do some crowd management and set up a second line (which has a whole ‘nother meaning in NOLA, where a second-line parade can break out any old time). Or maybe you should just make a game plan and order one of the quicker dishes to get out the window, like bowls of red beans and rice, gumbo, or jambalaya. (I’m crazy about Matt’s muffuletta.)No official word on whether Matt’s going to be giving out free beignets for customers hollering “Geaux Saints,” but it’s worth a shot.
