PETA has ranked the Highline’s “TLT” sandwich at No. 5 in its survey of the top 10 vegan BLTs in the nation. The Capitol Hill-based vegan restaurant and bar makes its sandwich using tempeh “bacon,” lettuce, tomato and vegan mayo. Of the establishment, PETA writes: “Vegan food, live music, and 25 beers on tap? Nothing could make this tempeh-bacon, lettuce, and tomato sammy taste better.
