Oddly, this looks exactly like me…Just got finished recording my first radio spot for 103.7 The Mountain, so those of you who’ve gotten hooked on your morning hit of radio restaurant talk, take heart. Kauffman did his thing for a while before bailing out for Frisco. Maggie then took the baton and ran with it, hipping folks to good booze and better pho, and now I’m running my leg of the relay, talking about…Well, I’m not quite sure yet. Everything, really. Today was focused primarily on where to find a decent fish fry in this town which ought to be damn near brimming over with great ones (check out my post on Marketplace Grill for one solid choice). But next week? Who knows… I’ll be handling my radio duties roughly the same way I do the blog–basically rolling in ten minutes late, stinking of gin, with a salami under my arm or a bag full of sandwiches and then just blathering on for a few minutes like a spastic monkey about whatever great thing I just put in my mouth for money.Charming, right? I know. My mother is so proud…I’m a little sketchy on the details yet, but as soon as I know some basics (like whether or not I can use old-timey curse words like dadgum, poppycock and poltroon on the radio without someone getting their FCC license yanked and when my segments will actually be airing), I’ll let you all know.
