I was disappointed last week to drive by Tu Oanh (1207 S. Jackson St., Suite 107) and find that it had closed. Although that location has become a revolving door, during the nine months or so the Vietnamese restaurant was open it had become a favorite stop for hu tieu nam vang and bun mang vit. The new restaurant, Hue Ky, advertises Chinese noodles. Since the name appears to have Vietnamese diacritical marks, I’m wondering if the place will specialize in Vietnamese-Chinese Chaozhou food, much like nearby Mi Ca Lay. If anyone knows for sure, drop a note in the comments. Although Hue Ky is not yet open, the dining room was in good shape and the kitchen was filled with workers, so look for the turnaround time to be quick.
