Capitol Hill residents get a hybrid coffee shop- sports bar this weekend. Auto Battery will feature a full bar, free wi-fi, shuffleboard, and 14 televisions. No word on whether its owner, Po Dog founder Laura Olson, plans on slinging sausage at the new site.

Over in the University District, college students have yet another fast food option: MOD (Made on Demand) Pizza has launched location no. 3 at 1414 Northeast 42nd Street. It offers personal pies for $5.88, regardless of the no. of toppings you request.

Falafel fans in Greenwood can rejoice; popular Mediterranean eatery King Falafel Grill is slated to reopen at 8317 Greenwood Avenue North this Saturday, June 26. (You may recall that prior to closing last year, it was based at the space currently occupied by Aloha Ramen.)

And lastly, for the families in Queen Anne: A coffee shop-children’s center is scheduled to open later this summer at 2111 Queen Anne Avenue North. Twirl Cafe will serve all-natural, organic sandwiches, snacks, and coffee. It will also have a play area and toys for the kiddies.
