Here’s a sign summer is upon us: Food Truck Fridays return to Two Beers Brewingtoday. “There’s no doubt that the combination of delicious local food, great local beer and a sun-filled patio makes for the perfect end to the work week,” Two Beers founder and head brewer Joel VandenBrink says. Maximus/Minimus gets the season rolling this afternoon. The giant roving pig will be parked outside Two Beers from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. When you purchase food from the truck you’ll get your first pint of year-round Two Beers brew for $3, so arrive ready to eat and drink. In other news, the U-District Farmers Market turns the big 2-0 this summer. To celebrate, Trophy Cupcakes is handing out 500 mini-cupcakes starting at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow on the corner of University Way NE and NE 50th St.
On Sunday, the Mercer Island Farmers Market starts its season at Mercerdale Park. It’s a big weekly event on the little island, featuring more than 50 vendors and food trucks from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 7700 SE 32nd St.
