First off, in Ballard, Po Dog owners Laura Olson and Chris Pardo are opening an eclectic three-story establishment called the Queen of Norway featuring both hot dogs and Scandinavian cuisine at 2014 Market St. But that’s not all. The other floors will feature a speakeasy-style lounge and — wait for it — a dance club. Also in the neighborhood, Emerald City Orchids Cafe is scheduled to open at 716 N.W. 65Th St. by mid-December, The menu will feature several local items, including sandwiches from Molly’s Salads, pastries from Hiroki, and coffee from Fremont Coffee Company.
Eat up while you still can. Builtburger’s last day of business is this Friday.
In Pioneer Square, BuiltBurger at 217 James St. in Pioneer Square serves its last patty on Friday, December 2. Its owners are now on the East Coast and have decided to “pause the BuiltBurger brand.”
In Rainer Valley, a Mediterranean fast food restaurant is now open at 4556 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. S. Bananas Grill serves burgers, gyros, kebabs, fries, and more. Also on the menu: free wi-fi.
Over in South Lake Union, Harborside, formerly McCormick and Schmicks, is now up and running at 1200 Westlake Ave. N.
Lastly, in Wallingford, Yogurtland celebrates the opening of its newest shop at 2320 N. 45th St. in Wallingford next Saturday, December 10. The festivities run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but the earlier you show up, the better. The first 50 guests will receive free gift cards and, while supplies last, guests can score free frozen yogurt and Yogurtland t-shirts.
