Calling all longtime cider fans and the cider-curious: 16 regional cidermakers from Washington, Oregon, Montana and B.C. will be passing out samples of more than 50 cider varieties tomorrow at Port Townsend’s third annual Summer Cider Day. $25 gets you 10 tasting tickets and a take-home glass. The event lasts from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Northwest Maritime Center at 431 Water St. Check Facebook for more event and ticket info.
In other news, this year’s Columbia City Chow Down is set for Tuesday, July 23 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The 3rd annual event includes tastes from several neighborhood eateries and sweet spots, including Geraldine’s Counter, Full Tilt Ice Cream and Island Soul. The event sold out last year, but at last check tickets were still up for grabs here. All proceeds benefit the Rainier Valley Food Bank.
