Calling all cookbookophiles: Lark chef/owner John Sundstrom is giving a talk at downtown’s Central Library this evening titled, “Thinking Outside the (Recipe) Box.” Sundstrom will discuss the year-long process involved in creating his new community-supported cookbook Lark: Cooking Against the Grain. The chat at the library’s Microsoft Auditorium starts at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

In news that confirms the Broadway Farmers Market is getting even awesomer, CHS reports that Mighty Ramen debuts on Broadway and Pine this Sunday. Owner Rob Tallon got the idea to open a noodle stand after teaching classes on how to make ramen at the Pantry. Tallon hopes to follow in the footsteps of other local Asian street food purveyors like Little Uncle and Kedai Makan and eventually go brick-and-mortar. For now, get your homemade ramen made with Shepherd’s Grain flour from Oregon starting at 11 a.m.
