Blind Pig Bistro cook Manuel Alfau is opening his own Caribbean sandwich shop at 100 Prefontaine Pl. S. in Pioneer Square, according to Eater Seattle. La Bodega will feature an awesome roast pork sandwich (obviously), as well as dishes from from Alfau’s native country the Dominican Republican. Construction begins later this month.In other news, Seattle Met reports that Capitol Cider is coming to 818 E. Pike St. on Capitol Hill. The pub will feature 100 varieties of cider, 70 meads, and a gluten-free food menu. Things are expected to be up and running by early 2013.
