Best Dim Sum. Best sandwiches. Best restaurant for a first date, best restaurant for a last date and best restaurant for everything in between. It’s that time of year again, folks. Time for the annual Best of Seattle issue and, along with it, the Best of Seattle Readers’ Poll where you, the good people of the Emerald City get to have your say about who kills it and who should just die in the city we call home.So how do you play along? I’m so glad you asked…In order to play along at home, all you have to do is go to the Best of Seattle Readers’ Poll page at seattleweekly.com. Once there, all we need from you is a name and a valid email address (to make sure there’s no cheating and no ballot-box stuffing by those less-than-scrupulous restaurateurs and fans), and then, voila! Pages and pages of stuff for you to vote on.Now as we do every year, we’re asking about the best of all sorts of stuff–from bars and clubs to local politicians, music, places to hike and where to buy the best vibrators. But just between you and me? We know that the food section of the Best of Seattle is what really matters, right? All that other stuff is just for people who haven’t realized yet that there is nothing more important in the world than finding where to score the best cheeseburger, cupcake or plate of fried chicken in the greater Seattle area.So get over to the Readers’ Poll right now and have your say. This is democracy in action, people. It’s handing over the reins of power to the masses. And since I know you all have some pretty strong feelings about who in town pours the best cocktails or bakes the best croissant, why would you want some other schlub getting to vote without you there to stand up for your personal favorites? So make your voice heard. Make your vote count. Take the democratic process and make it your bitch. And do it before 5pm on July 21, because that’s when we shut the machinery down and close voting until next year’s edition.
