Beloved Japanese restaurant Ichiban in the International District has closed its doors

Beloved Japanese restaurant Ichiban in the International District has closed its doors after a 27 year-run, citing landlord-lease issues, according to The Seattle Times. It famously served “no sushi” and focused on homestyle Japanese cooking like donburi and sukiyaki, unlike most of its peers. The owners have no plans to reopen elsewhere. R.I.P. Ichiban.
