Belgians, the French like to say, speak three languages — none of them very well. To which the Belgians reply, “This from a country that calls Kronenbourg a great beer?” Which is a fair point given that the Belgians do brew some of the planet’s most creative, strong and tasty malt beverages. But if your travel plans don’t involve Brussels anytime soon, never fear. Belgian-style beers are gathering in Seattle this Jan. 23 in Georgetown for Belgianfest 2010. The event, at the Engine Room, runs in two sessions, from 12 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. and features more than 20 Washington breweries. Tickets for each session are $30 in advance and $35 at the door (but your designated driver can get in for $5). The price includes a tasting glass and ten 4oz tastes. This is for those 21 and over.
