Summer may be winding down, but there’s still time to enjoy the open-air patio at Belltown’s Axis while sampling what may be the best happy hour in town. From 5 p.m. to close Sunday and Monday, 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 10 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, kamikazes, well drinks, and wood-fired pizzas are just $2.99 apiece. The fruity-licious “kazis” (raspberry or watermelon), while a bit light on the vodka, are a refreshing accompaniment to half-priced appetizers ranging from quirky (fried pickles, $2.50) to decadent (wok-seared mussels with chiles and coconut milk, $5). Still, the pizzas are the real treat: large, gourmet pies that couldn’t be further from the “personal pan” variety. Choose from grilled steak with Chinese barbecue sauce and mozzarella; puttanesca (fresh tomato, basil, mozzarella, and parmesan); chorizo; or the chef’s special, and feel as blessed as the beautiful people strolling by. 2214 First Ave., 206-441-9600.
