Autumn Martin, creator of Hot Cakes Confections, is opening a dessert shop at 5427 Ballard Ave. N.W. this May. Called Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery, the establishment will serve Martin’s signature take-and-bake molten cakes in mason jars (see right), grilled chocolate sandwiches (really), and even boozy milkshakes.In other news, Central District News reports that The Neighbor Lady is now up and running at 2308 E Union St. Run by the folks behind beloved neighborhood bar Twilight Exit, it offers vegetarian-friendly fare and cocktails.
