An expanded Monsoon opened last week with doubled capacity and a new bar. Eric and Sophie Banh’s Capitol Hill restaurant added 800 square feet, 40 seats (nine of them at the bar), and a chilled-seafood section in the menu.
Ethan Stowell was set to open his ultra-pricey Noyer behind Red Cow in Madrona, but he announced he’s now looking for an alternative location, reports Eater Seattle. “It’s not good enough,” Stowell says of the space.
The old Emmer & Rye space on Queen Anne has a confirmed new occupant, according to the Queen Anne View. Nana’s Mexican Restaurant will open in early August with “traditional Mexican food with accents of American fare. We will be working with family-handed-down recipes and new food concepts.”
Taylor Shellfish has expanded again, this time to Pioneer Square. Their newest location serves geoducks, mussels, clams, and oysters, plus wine and beer. E
