A hot tipster who’s well acquainted with Bottomfeeder swung into Del Rey on her walk home to pick up some take-out black truffle mac ‘n cheese for a dinner side dish. While waiting at the bar, which features a dazzling array of tequilas, she struck up a conversation with one of the First Avenue eatery’s employees, who mentioned that the restaurant will be switching to an all-Mexican and Latin influenced menu beginning in March. We’ll have to wait and see how this all goes, but the world will be a less tasty place without that mac ‘n cheese, which was truly one of a kind. Maybe there’s a Mexican spin they can put on it to keep it on the menu.
