So youre looking to get out of the (haunted) house this Halloween, but dont have the patience to wait around for the Great Pumpkin? Well, come take a roll in ze hay on Puyallup Parks and Recreations Haunted Hayride, now in its 13th year. This years theme is Now Showing and features the creatures from the best horror movies of all time. Hooray for revisiting childhood nightmares! Cozy up on hay bales for this 30-minute ride through the unknown darkness of Wildwood Park while watching reenacted scenes from Silence of the Lambs, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Night of the Living Dead. It may go without saying that this event is not recommended for kids under 7. (They just cant appreciate the complexity of It puts the lotion in the basket!) Organizer Tyler Eidson touts the chilly fun and concessions for sale, but warns hayride goers to prepare for a wait, as 800 tickets are sold per night! This could mean an hour wait among hundreds of strangers. Now thats scary. (park in Bradley Park and take shuttle.)
