Portland pop players the Winebirds specialize in sweet nothing songs that, even in a scene replete with pop bands, show promise. It’s the dueling male and female vocals that keep things fresh, because while guitarist Reggie yowls like Mick Jagger, fellow chanteuses Lauren and Rose’s harmonizing takes things to a folksier place when they’re at the helm. The Winebirds are unsigned and just fresh out of the gates, so check them out before they become Portland’s Next Big Thing and you have to elbow your way through a bunch of 15-year-olds with hipster mullets just to get a glimpse of the stage.
