The Fiery Furnaces

Tuesday, October 16

Matt and Eleanor Friedberger are, quite possibly, the weirdest brother-sister duo in rock history. Richard and Karen, and Jack and Meg got nothing on these two. Live, their songs sound like a toy piano and a drum-kit tossed down the basement steps of a sooty Chicago tenement. A racket so delightful that, when it’s over, you have no idea if what you saw was great or just plain dizzying. With Pit Er Pat.

Listen to a sample of The Fiery Furnaces’ “Uncle Charlie.”
