The Devil Makes Three

Thursday, January 3

Whether you’re either trying to continue or kick that liver-damaging champagne-and-winter ale New Years hangover, taking in the swilling sounds Santa Cruz jug-punk-blues trio The Devil Makes Three should lead you along the road to recovery. After all, The Devil Makes Three are pretty much the conductors of the Booze Express, shoveling coal into the fire and swigging a bottle of moonshine, and keeping everything chugging along. How can you not drink to this stuff? What with those late night back porch banjo/bass stomps and songs like “Old Number 7” paying tribute to Jack Daniel’s, Devil Makes Three’s only antidote is sobriety. So think of it this way: tonight’s the limit. Put a spike in your petty excuses, have a couple doubles on the rocks, dance, and end up sweating the booze right out of your system. With guests. TRAVIS RITTER

Listen to a sample of The Devil Makes Three’s “Old Number Seven.”
