Have breakfast with a lovable little brat

Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Efraim’s Daughter Longstocking is what the fiery and mischievous heroine of the Swedish children’s story claims her full name to be, or in her native tongue: Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Långstrump. It’s certainly a mouthful, and the Nordic Heritage Museum is offering a mouthful of another kind—delicious and also Swedish—to go with the Pippi theme: pancakes. For Breakfast at Pippi’s (which precedes a screening of an original Pippi movie), the girl with the most unusual strength (often described as that of 10 policemen) is combined with the most delicate of lace-thin breakfast items, and the organizers encourage attendees to dress like Pippi or one of her pals. So throw on that gravity-defying fire-engine-red braided wig that’s been wasting away in the closet and switch up the regular Bloody Mary brunch for something a bit more wholesome. But remember: it’s not Halloween. Slutty Pippis should steer clear. Breakfast 10–11:30 a.m., movie at noon.
