If youve had the chance to play Rock Band since its recent release, then it may not surprise you that an entire charity event is already planned around this ridiculously addicting game. Pink Godzilla, the reputable indie-game store, is hosting tonights Pinkapalooza, a night of rocking out on Rock Band to benefit Penny Arcades Childs Play, a gamer community-grown charity that has already donated over $2 million in toys, books, and games to kids in childrens hospitals around the country. Help out by bringing your band to the most real gig you will ever have, onstage at Nectar Lounge with 10-foot projector screens and a turn it up to 11 sound system. So much better than Charles Pub. A faux battle of the bands will let the best performers compete for some great gaming swag. Performing not for you? (Yeah, that kick drum pedal cramps my calf muscle too.) No worries, there will be raffles for great prizes all night too. And, very appropriately for the gaming community, local 8-bit musician and singer/songwriter Leeni will give a live performance. Hopefully everyone will hear her over the smacking of the drumsticks!
