On Saturday hundreds of dancers gathered at the Seattle Center fountain to perform “The Chair Spectacle” as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of Seattle’s World’s Fair. This performance is like nothing you’ve seen before. White-clad dancers aged 6 to 76 moved in unison around, on, and with their white folding chairs. “The Chair Spectacle” was directed by award winning choreographer Pat Graney. Actual recorded sounds from the 1962 World’s Fair, popular songs from the 60’s, and even advertisements provided the soundtrack. Photos by Kayley Kirmse.Published on April 23, 2012
