Named for its location—local in Ballard—and certainly not for the caliber of comedy performed, this bi-monthly forum for new or experimental material sprang from the comedic mind of Hari K. Kondabolu(of People’s Republic of Komedy fame),and is now in the hands of fellow humorists Derek Sheen, Paul Merrill, and Aziza Diaz. (It’s open to all ages, but not recommended for the kids.) Tonight’s show will feature Peter Greyy, described by organizer Merrill as “a Seattle comedy veteran…a major force behind the alt-comedy movement in Seattle, mentoring most of the young comics in town. He was also the mastermind behind ‘ComedyNight,’ the beloved comedy showcase that closed [along with its host, the Mirabeau Room] last year.” Also performing alongside co-organizers Sheen and Diaz will be comics Kevin Richards, David Cope, and Lizzy Pilcher. Paul Merrill will be there in voice only, as he will be “hiding in Canada to avoid the coming draft.” Fri., Aug. 24
