We recently talked up White Centers Café Rozella as a coffeehouse of unique pretensions; Capitol Hills latest and greatest may be the intimate Faire, which is hosting a fun event every time I walk by. The bright shop has been open for a while, but seems to be gaining a foothold in the neighborhood now for its jovial atmosphere and constant happenings. Faire is to make en francais, and the owners look to writer and multimedia artist Gertrude Steins salon-style art and performance space in the early 20th century as their inspiration. Comedy shows and spoken word are sporadic, while art, music, and a deliciously fragrant Nutella mocha are always on offer. Tonight, drop in for live Brazilian samba with Bomba-Brazilor enjoy Spanish flamenco with Carril Flamenco on Saturday, and live jazz with FairePlay on Sunday. Music nights are always gratis. Faire Gallery and Café, 1351 Olive Way, 652-0781. Free. 8 p.m. RACHEL SHIMP
